Everything you do is a strategy

Everything you do is a strategy. I could run a session on strategies every day for the rest of my life and we still wouldn’t have enough time for you to fully understand the importance of strategies in your life.?

When you talk about strategy, people think about marketing and selling don’t they? And business…that’s pretty much what they think about. But actually, the life strategy is probably the most important because if you don’t align your business with your life, you won’t feel that fulfilment – you simply won’t.?

There are millions of strategies when it comes to marketing, but you can split it down to your social strategy, your offline strategy (i.e. going to networking events), your PR strategy, your events attendance strategy, your keeping in contact with people after you’ve met them strategy. You create a strategy for everything you do, and of course, the more you’re aware of how you’re achieving success or needing more success (i.e. I have not quite achieved it), the more likely you are to be able to intercept it and go ohhh.

Don’t make an assumption about why something has failed?

Right at the very beginning of having my recruitment business, I put an advert into the local Northants Chamber magazine and I got zero response to it – and I mean zero! I could have easily thought it was because I put the price on it and the price was too much. I could have thought that maybe the advert wasn’t big enough or maybe the advert was in the wrong place. I could have thought maybe just the content of it wasn’t right, maybe the headline wasn’t right, maybe the picture wasn’t right.?

If I hadn’t been able to ask myself all those questions and just made an assumption as to why it didn’t work, then I wouldn’t have been able to put it right.?

If it doesn’t work, don’t just assume what it is. Instead, think about all the different elements and what hasn’t worked.
