David Whyte's poem, 'Everything is waiting for you' – from his excellent pocketbook Essentials – is a timeless reminder.

And we do need reminding…

The last section seems to be particularly appropriate for today:

Put down the weight of your aloneness and ease into

the conversation. The kettle is singing

even as it pours you a drink, the cooking pots

have left their arrogant aloofness and

seen the good in you at last. All the birds

and creatures of the world are unutterably

themselves. Everything is waiting for you.

So stand with your feet on the ground and gaze around you.

And know that you are welcome here because you are enough.
