EVERYTHING IS A PERCENTAGE GAME
There’s a lot that mortgage professionals and real estate agents do to try and get business. For realtors they could call clients they have worked with in the past or start cold calling by knocking on doors. For mortgage loan officers it may also include buying leads from online aggregators or building relationships with realtors.?
No matter what the activity is it boils down to a game of percentages and it’s very important to keep that in mind. Because after 10 or 20 attempts over the span of a day or two, if we aren’t seeing the success we sought out, we think “That doesn’t work!” In my experience that is false.
In my career when something hasn’t worked, I reflect and challenge it if it is my skills or my effort.?I know it is in my control to double, triple or exponentially increase my effort.?It takes a couple hundred of anything to determine if something really works.
As we built out our Priority Partner channel, we literally only had a handful of agents participating. Today, we have a couple of hundred, but it wasn’t an instant success. We had to speak with hundreds of agents having thousands of conversations to get where we are today. We have referred out hundreds of prospective clients to our network and they are converting at a solid 30% and we want it to go even higher. That means right now 6 or 7 may not work out but 3 out of 10 do.
Make sure you remember it’s all a percentage play and consistent effort is the key!
