Everything Multi-Sport - The Paralmypics has started!

The Paralympics is finally here and thankfully I was able to watch the opening ceremony in a quaint apartment in a place called Olula in Spain.

What a show! IMHO a better ceremony than the Olympics.

I’m back home now in Spain and can’t wait to watch the action from the games.

This driving holiday (Spain-France-UK and back) was fun and culminated swimming in a natural pool called Balsa de Cela near the Tabernas desert in Southern Spain.

The outdoor spa is a natural spring and is heated to around 22 -24 degrees all year round.

The large pool has fish swimming in it! We saw some very large carp which was a surprise in a swimming pool!

When we arrived, there was an aquacise class in full swing being taken by a man dressed as a milk maid and a lady dress in a cow suit.

It was quite an experience and a great end to our road trip in style.

Now let’s dive in to the other best bits from swimming, cycling, running and holistics.

Post-Swim Care for Every Hair Type, Vetted by Experts

Chlorine is great for keeping pools clean. It’s not so great for your hair. Though Eau de Chlorine is the signature scent of every triathlete, that lingering smell is a sign that even when we’re not in the pool, we’re still saturated with pool water.

Chlorine is great for killing bacteria in public pools, keeping swimmers from getting sick from E. coli and other nasty germs. It’s also not-so-great for your post-swim hair, as it strips the natural oils that protect your locks from damage and daily wear.

You may have noticed in the health, fitness and sports?press that Vibration plates or Power Plates are making a resurgence?

This piqued my interest, and I have been looking into their benefits and even tried one at a gym in France this week!

When I used to use them in the gym years go I used them for recovery, massage and rehab but things have moved on.

I contacted the guys at Power Plate and they sent me:

Performance Training for Swimmers?- PDF guide.

Power Plate for Athletes.

Power Plates are very expensive and usually aimed at gyms. If you have one at your local gym maybe download the Power Plate free App and see how they can help your training and performance.

If you have a home gym, then this one from Bluefin on Amazon has got good reviews and I will be buying it.
