It is estimated that Mazafati dates account for 20% of Iran’s total export of dates.

Palm trees can grow to 23 m high, and people need to climb up the trunk to pick the dates in the harvest season called?Khorma Pazoon?in Iran. Khorma Pazoon happens in the hottest season and time of the year, usually in August, lasting to the end of October.

In Iran, the traditional way of harvesting date palm trees involves a skillful worker known as a “palmbakht” or “nakhlbar.”These workers climb up the palm trunk using a ladder made of palm fronds.
