"Everything has a purpose, if you allow it"

"Everything has a purpose, if you allow it"

Well, let me tell you, there’s something about this journey we’re all on — “everything has a purpose, if you allow it”. Whether you see it or not, there’s a reason for the bumps along the way. I’ve found that some of my most valuable lessons came from the most negative things that have happened to me; the ones that made me stop, learn, and reflect instead of just feeling sorry for myself.?

You’ve heard me say countless times already that I can “pave the road” with the mistakes that I’ve made over the course of my life. But even those very mistakes have all had their purpose in my life and have shaped me into the human being I am today.?

It’s very easy to get caught up in the “Why is this happening to me?” But what we really should be asking is, “What’s my role in all this?”?

Life’s a bit mysterious, sure, but there’s a thread that connects it all. I might not fully grasp it, but I know I’m still here for a reason. I’m still here to find my true purpose. We all have one, or even many.?

Cooking, for instance, brings me joy. It’s not just about making a meal; it’s about sharing and nurturing the ones closest to me. The purpose for cooking isn’t for me to show off my skills in the kitchen. It is to break bread with new faces and spend more intimate time with my loved ones. It’s all about connection.?

And speaking of connection, we don’t ask each other the right questions anymore. It’s always about what we DO for a living, but what really matters is who we are and what’s important to us.

So, instead of jumping straight into, “What do you do?” maybe we ought to start with, “Who are you?” and “What’s important to you?” It’s about diving deeper, beyond the surface level. We are way more than the veneer of our profession.?

I consider myself curious, always wanting to learn more. And I think a lot of folks could benefit from that kind of mindset. It’s not about the titles we carry; it’s about the connections we make and the purpose we find along the way.

At the end of the day, my biggest purpose revolves around my family and friends. That’s what grounds me. That’s what keeps me on the mission that I’m on.?
