Everything Is Going To Be All Right

Welcome back to my article; thank you very much for reading my scribbles over the years.
Before Christmas my last article generated a great response, from people who enjoy poetry and lots who feel they are too busy usually to read anything other than work-related topics.
Over Christmas, I heard this poem by Derek Mahon on the radio, a compelling message for the times in which we are living.
Please take a few minutes to read and let its message sink in, and I am sure it will lift your spirits in the same way that it did mine.
Everything is Going to be All Right
How should I not be glad to contemplate
the clouds clearing beyond the dormer window
and a high tide reflected on the ceiling?
There will be dying, there will be dying,
but there is no need to go into that.
The poem flows from the hand unbidden
and the hidden source is the watchful heart.
The sun rises in spite of everything
and the far cities are beautiful and bright.
I lie here in a right of sunlight
watching the Daybreak and the clouds flying.
Everything is going to be alright.
It is surprising how poems and music can provide a boost when everything appears to be dark and gloomy on these winter days.
Why not put a little time aside and write down what would be 'All Right' for you in 2021?
P.S.
My next article will include some great advice from Anna Geary’s article in the Sunday Independent Life magazine.
"Strive for Progress not Perfection."
