Elective surgery has been cancelled, meaning many of the planned treatment cycles have been postponed for an undetermined period of time, this is a cause of frustration and anger for many people and that is perfectly normal ??
So, what can you do in preparation for your upcoming cycle, firstly be mindful of where you are getting your information, watching the news is not a good source unfortunately ??

Journal articles are great, especially from virologists/epidemiologists who study these viruses for a living, you cannot beat a virus, you learn to live with them and then when the vaccine is available, protect the most vulnerable ??
Understand that Australia already has a very large number of people who have already been exposed to the virus, as cases can be present up to 4 weeks prior to anyone noticing a confirmed infected patient. This means that we already have a significant number of people who are immune, have antibodies already since February, in a largely misunderstood term called 'herd immunity' and these numbers are not available or reported ??
If you are in the vulnerable group or over the age of 60 or if you work with children, work in hospitals, have any underlying health conditions then please get your flu vaccine ????
We do have a vaccination for the flu, so the figures that are announced and cause confusion with the latest CV19 virus can be largely dismissed, because more people will be flu vaccinated in 2020, prior to the upcoming flu season ??
Use this time to work on your health and fitness, although it is tempting to binge watch Netflix and eat popcorn (it took me a month to find popcorn in Woolworths - as the shelves were empty, so I know you are out there eating it ??) this time can be used to get yourself into the best possible shape for your upcoming treatment cycle ???♀?
Both partners can look at nutrition, exercise more, drink water, reduce alcohol consumption, quit smoking (you can have hypnosis for this one) and look at your BMI. Movement is good and there are no shortage of things you can do, from a quick 30 minute walk daily, to more intensive workouts, by joining the hundreds of online classes currently available ???♂?
Finally but most importantly, look after your mindset, as your thoughts determine your behaviour, which in turn determine your emotions.
