And that’s a lot to keep up with! So The Everything Edit is here to give you a monthly inside look into everything we’ve been up to, from top stories and updates from our stores to careers highlights.

Making healthy food accessible for every child

Here at Asda, we want every kid to have a chance to eat right. And we know that, for many families, it can be hard to make that happen. That’s why throughout the Easter holidays we made kids meal deals available for just ￡1. And we didn’t stop there.?

We’ve now extended our kids café meal deal to a year round offering. So, in over 205 of our cafés across the country, all year round, every child under 16 can now sit down for a hot meal for just ￡1. Last year we served over a whopping 115,000 meals across the two week Easter holiday period. Since then, we’ve served over 3,000,000 meals to kids in cafes nationwide.?

The refreshed kids menu offers more nutritious, balanced meals, including new vegan and healthy meal options, making healthy eating more accessible – for every child.

Reaching an incredible milestone with Veterans into Logistics

We’re so proud of the part we can play in helping people in the Armed Forces rediscover life after service. Not only have we been part of the Armed Forces Covenant since 2014, we’ve also worked with Veterans into Logistics more recently.?

Veterans into Logistics is a charity creating opportunities for veterans to work in the logistics sector. And our Logistics Services department has been in partnership with them for 3 years – supporting their mission to prevent homelessness and unemployment in the veteran community. Our depots have been supporting various charity events, and our donation has helped veterans access the training and mentoring they need to earn their HGV licences, and start a new career as drivers.?

Off the back of this partnership, we’re honoured to announce that we’ve been awarded? Platinum Partner Status with Veterans into Logistics.?

Our Vice President, Chris Hall of Asda Logistics Services, was delighted to accept the plaque from Darren Wright, the founder of Veterans into Logistics, after working together throughout the last 3 years. We can’t wait to see what great things we can go on to achieve together.

Keeping everyone connected with brand new contracts

Over in Asda Mobile, we’ve always been dedicated to giving our customers exceptional value – with added benefits. That’s why we’re so excited to share that, for the first time ever, we’re launching contracts with an amazing cashback deal that rewards customers every month, with pounds, not points, across all SIM-only contracts.?

That means customers on a 12-month contract will get 2% of their monthly bill back. And 5% back for 24-months.

Offering benefits that support real life

Not only did we recently confirm our proposal to increase retail pay rates to ￡12.04 per hour, we’ve just launched two new benefits – giving our colleagues access to essential guidance, at no extra cost to them.?

This includes Care Concierge, managed by Legal & General, which offers expert assistance around later-life care for loved ones, and the Mortgage Advice Bureau, which provides comprehensive guidance for navigating property purchase or remortgaging.

These are only the latest additions to an already amazing pack of resources to help our colleagues support their health and wellness, inside and outside of the workplace. From round-the-clock access to a private GP service and unlimited mental health support to flexible wage services through Wagestream, we’re making sure our colleagues can get the advice they need, whenever they need it. Partnering with Women in Data

We partner with Women in Data? , and a number of our data colleagues recently attended their flagship event, where they were presented with an award for partner of the quarter (Q1 2024).

We won the award for our strong continued partnership and more recently the work we have done in going out to local schools to help engage with the younger generation to try and inspire girls into a career in data.? So far we have touched in excess of 300 students with fantastic engagement and feedback, we have even been asked to show other partners how to best approach this due to the great job we are doing in the space.
