Everyone’s an expert

Greetings Reader,
It seems everyone’s an expert these days. LinkedIn influencers, Lee down the local, or even a long-lost friend who’s claimed to have cracked time travel. But when it comes to advice about computers and systems, it’s probably best to listen to those who’ve been in the industry since the time of the BlackBerry. Remember them?
“You bet I do, Capt. Now get on with it…”
This week, I was reminded of the time my client was advised by a friend not to get antivirus software. He was told it’s a scam and as long as you don’t click on a dodgy email attachment, you’ll be fine.
Maybe that has some truth if you’re super-duper careful. But when you’re running a small business with multiple colleagues and computers, it’s only a matter of time before a click causes catastrophe.
And anyway, antivirus software doesn’t just protect you from dodgy links. It also:
??Scans your memory and systems for any suspicious patterns that could indicate malware.
??Removes malicious code from your computers.
??Scans your incoming email for any security risks
??Oh, and it can also…
“Okaaaay Captain, we get it. Businesses need antivirus software”
You’ve got it. And if you want to speak to a crew of genuine experts about IT support for your business, you know what to do.
Until the next time. ??
