For example, The Rock is the highest-earning actor per movie and is the self-described "hardest working person in the room." Jenner is an expert in cosmetics and brand building. LeBron James is among the greatest basketball players of all time.?

These people are definitely brands, but their credibility is based on their ability to consistently deliver the goods. Stated differently, their credibility stems from their ability to put in the necessary effort and produce desired outcomes, which makes them influential.

How can you establish your brand's credibility??

Credibility is developed from the inside out.?The personal branding strategy aims to control how other people perceive you. This was the management style I once worked for, and it was frustrating because you never knew which version of them would show up. They would constantly try to gauge the situation with their manager and make rash decisions, making them completely unpredictable.?

Rather than a set of guiding ideals and beliefs, their north star was whatever made the best impression at the time. It made everyone wonder, even their superiors, who they were dealing with at any given time. This person embodied the perfect "yes." Never be like this person.

Although crucial, your level of technical proficiency needs to be improved.?

If you needed surgery, you would hire a qualified surgeon, not let a Jimmy John's delivery driver do it. It's true enough. There are many technically skilled people with a long list of degrees and certifications that mean absolutely nothing.?

No one cares if you're a slacker, insensitive, or have a big ego—even if you are the smartest person on a subject. It is uncommon to find someone whose technical proficiency surpasses their social deficiency.

It's earned via patience and dedication to actual people—not just followers. Being influential with the people you work directly with now is a prerequisite for being effective with teams, organizations, and communities. It is a bad idea to bypass your close friends and family in favor of a broader "audience" because you will lose the support of people who interact with you regularly. It doesn't matter how good your resume is or how many connections you have on LinkedIn—if no one can recommend you to another team or potential client, it doesn't matter.
