All those involved in the production and development of Disney?Pixar's film "Inside Out" deserve every ounce of critical acclaim they are receiving for this film.
The film is named "Inside Out" because it is about the inner workings of the mind, which controls how people behave. In the film, each person has five emotions living inside their head - Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger. Joy is responsible for our happiness. Disgust protects us from being poisoned or embarrassed. Fear keeps us out of harm's way. Anger safeguards us from unfairness and injustice. Sadness' purpose is not understood and fully appreciated until the very end of the film.

9 年I did really like the film - sometimes we need a reminder of what we have to feel joy-ful. My family enjoyed it too particularly when anger results in slamming doors and frustration. I think it helped them realise why we sometimes do what we do! Great way of helping children express their feelings so we can help them or us empathise and give understanding to move on. Can see me using it in my child consultation work or mediation with parents.

9 年Ron, I'm with you on this one. I do not understand what all the hype is on the movie. I actually found it so boring that I fell asleep in the middle of it.

9 年Great. In the '70s everyone was going around psychoanalyzing each other because they had read "Games People Play." And kept right on, by and large, acting as stupidly and bovinically as they had before. Now, everyone's gonna be shooting each other down over this "emotional intelligence" nonsense. Within a year's time, pseudoscience trump-cards like "deal with your anger" will be nothing but mind-numbing cliches with no meaning at all. Sorry, but it takes more than a schmancy cartoon to fix the human condition. It takes deciding to.

9 年Inside out - a movie that introduces us to the concept of emotional intelligence. Everyone needs to know how to handle their emotions in times of crisis and major adjustment. We will be using characters from the inside out movie to help the kids in our KFPS classes learn more about handle emotions of anger, sadness, and fear.
