Everyone is in Sales...

Here's the thing - In any exchange someone is sold.

You either sell your boss you can't take on additional workload or he sells you that you can and will find a way to handle it.

The more intentional we become at "selling" others the more successful we will be in business.

Here are a few tips that will help you when you are selling today:

You are not bothering someone with follow up. Follow up is the key. If you haven't received a yes or a no it is your job to breakthrough and get either one. Don't allow your messages or follow up to be lost get the answer.

Before every meeting, set an intention. When I go into a meeting I intend to have a deal closed at the end or a date and time set for the follow up.

Warm leads are the best kind. Tap your network for referrals. Implement affiliate programs where people receive commission for sending you business that you close.

When a client calls or emails to thank you ask if you can use the feedback as a testimonial for your business. You can never have enough testimonials. Facts tell but stories sell!

Sales is a numbers game. You need to track the data points and optimize. What is your conversion rate? What is converting best? Who is your idea target and where are you reaching them? What are the barriers to entry and how can we remove them? Test and try and refine.

Selling 1 to 1 is one strategy. I prefer to sell 1 to many. You can impact so many more people and at the end of the day selling is helping so you want to help as many people as possible.

People buy from people they know like and trust. Leverage your personal brand on Linkedin to allow you to attract more buyers and then begin converting. A closed mouth doesn't get fed. Ask for what you want.
