Everyone needs a Mike Ross!
Everyone needs a Mike Ross to their Harvey Spector…
…and everyone needs to be a Harvey Spector to someone else's Jessica Pearson.
I recently rewatched the TV series suites. Ok, it was more like holiday binge watching.?
It reminded me of the many times in my career where I had someone who was my right hand person.
Just like Harvey and Mike, our bond was built on trust, respect, and mutual support.
We were partners on a joint mission. We were unstoppable. Failure was never an option. I had their back, and they had mine. Together, we took on the most daunting challenges with confidence, passion, and the willpower to succeed. We were creative, innovative, and moved with speed and agility. We achieved what most would consider impossible.
Oh, and we had a ton of fun along the way.
I was also reminded of the times when I had a boss who treated me like their partner on a joint mission.
I was the Harvey Specter to their Jessica Pearson.
I learned new skills, was empowered to develop my own leadership style, and was challenged to always be at my best. I was encouraged to take smart risks, to experiment, and to challenge the boundaries of conventional wisdom.
We grew together, got creative when required, and delivered some amazing business outcomes along the way.

Career success isn't a solo journey.
It's about the people we team up with and those we uplift along the way.
Having a "Mike Ross" to your Harvey Specter, and being a "Harvey Specter" to someone else’s Jessica Pearson, aren’t just roles, but essential experiences that shape our professional narratives and career.
I am grateful to all of the amazing Mike Ross's and Jessica Pearson's who have been true partners with me throughout my career. You have helped me learn, grow, and develop, as a person and leader.
Oh, and you made it a ton of fun along the way!
Who is your "Mike Ross"?
How have you been a "Harvey Specter" to someone's "Jessica Pearson"?

1 å¹´Thanks Veresh! That's an awesome leadership analogy about not letting hierarchy get in the way of great partnerships. It is also cool to see Harvey & Mike taking complete ownership of solving the problem at hand and taking risks because they know their boss will have their back. It resonates with your maxim of "each person having the freedom to be outstanding". I am on Season 4 and enjoying every minute.
