Everyone Needs Love and Support

Everyone Needs Love and Support

My daughter's middle name is June, because my wife and I believe that June means love. Our families met for the first time in the month of June. And two days after my parent's 43rd wedding anniversary, we got married on June 23, 2018. Adding to an already special month for our family, this year I celebrated my first Father's Day.

Isabella June has grown the love of our family exponentially. And her middle name becomes more appropriate the older she gets with the love that she shares.

But this June and year of 2020 feels like an unusual time to write about love. Whether it be unemployment, the coronavirus, cancelled travel plans, race inequality or politics, I'm not seeing a whole lot of love when I flip on the local news. If you've found yourself struggling to find the positive, give yourself permission to enjoy the small moments in life.

There are serious issues to be tackled for our nation to grow together in strength, but it's never been a more important time to share the love with your neighbor. I've learned a lot from my 8-month old's ability to share love. While you may not solve a problem with a smile or hug, you will have more energy to face your issues with love and support.

Even if your smile is hiding behind a mask or quarantined in your house, wear it and share it. It's crucial for personal and professional growth, because it results in each of us being motivated to do so much more.

I hope each of you look back on your memories from June with love. If not, it's not too late. End this month right as you roll into July regaining your motivation for love and success.
