Tech fall is in full swing
"There are decades when nothing happens, and there are weeks when decades happen." That might be a slight exaggeration, but it’s been a whirlwind week for tech launches. Fall is almost always bustling with new products, updates, events, and more, and this year has proven no different.
Here’s a quick roundup of things that you might have missed this week:
Meta announces new smart glasses and AI chatbots: Meta hosted its first in-person event since the onset of the pandemic, and they went all out. The company unveiled new, personalized AI chatbots featuring some familiar faces. Alongside this, the company expanded its partnership with Ray-Ban, introducing the new Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses.
ChatGPT evolves: It seems the ChatGPT team took inspiration from Pokémon, as they announced a significant evolution for the chatbot. ChatGPT can now see, hear, and speak to users, analyze images, and potentially challenge Siri as a voice assistant. That's not all. Just yesterday, the team announced that the bot can now access the Internet; it's no longer limited to 2021 data.
Spotify vs AUX cables: Spotify announced its latest update emphasizing its social features: Jam. Jam allows groups of up to 32 to join a shared listening room and queue up their favorite songs — ideal for road trips and parties.
