Everyday Superpowers

Have you ever thought about the superpowers you possess?
Not the kind that lets you fly or turn invisible. I'm talking about everyday superpowers that can transform your life in ways you can't even imagine.
I can think of three of these that can lead to a happier and more fulfilling life if mastered.
#1 Learn to be happy by yourself
We often search for happiness outside ourselves, believing it's something to be found or earned. But the greatest gift you can give yourself is learning to be happy on your own.
You cannot be lonely if you like the person you're alone with. If you enjoy your own company, loneliness becomes a foreign concept. Aristotle said, "Happiness depends upon ourselves." It's a reflection of how we perceive and engage with our inner world.
Master that, and you will be happy no matter what.
#2 Be content with making invisible progress
In a culture that celebrates visible success, it's easy to feel disheartened by unnoticed progress. Yet, success is not always what you see. It takes decades to be an overnight success. The longer the progress stays invisible, the harder it will be to catch up and replicate that success.
Kobe Bryant said, “If I have trained two hours more per day than everyone else for years, then after 5-10 years, that gap will be so large that no amount of summer camps will ever bridge it.” He was content making invisible progress knowing very well that it would eventually pay off.
The thing is, progress happens in jumps. It’s not a linear function. If you do something enough times, you’ll suddenly get better. To outsiders, all that time before the jump seems like a waste — but it's not. In fact, it is the only way to improve.
So set your internal milestones, work toward them, and do not worry if the progress seems invisible to the rest of the world.
#3 Take on opportunities that you don’t feel fully prepared for
Richard Branson once remarked, "If somebody offers you an amazing opportunity but you are not sure you can do it, say yes anyways — then learn how to do it later!"
Stepping out of your comfort zone is where growth happens. Pushing your boundaries is where you'll find your greatest achievements because life begins at the end of your comfort zone.
Creating opportunities is an active process; they don’t just happen. You have to make them happen, and they will never be perfect. The best opportunity is the one that is outside of your comfort zone, the one that makes you grow in the process — whether you succeed or fail.
You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
By learning to enjoy your own company, appreciating unseen progress, and seizing opportunities beyond your comfort zone, you will find your life transforming in ways you cannot imagine.
So, use these everyday superpowers and master your inner world.
