There is nothing worse for a parent than losing a child. Now imagine if the tragedy could have been prevented. Preventable injuries are number one killer of children everywhere. Even though, children are going to fall, crash, slip and tumble. It’s all part of being an infant and we wouldn't want it any other way. But there are little things we can all do to ensure that children avoid the more serious injuries that can lead to disabilities and even death.
As parents and teachers, protecting our children from unintentional injuries, which is the number one cause of death to children throughout the world, almost a million children die of injuries each year.
When we talk about preventing injuries, we’re not talking about skinned knees, bruised shins and scraped elbows. Those are the telltale signs of a curious child, exploring the world, pushing limits and seeking adventure. But there are things we can all do to ensure that those bumps and bruises don’t turn into more disabling injuries and deaths.
when it comes to safety and keeping our children safe, everyone is involve, that is,we are all in this together. Caring for every child that comes your way as if they are your own; because every child deserves to grow up; death, disability and injuries can be avoided if safety practice is respected. The vast majority of these injuries happen to children who live in poorer communities, hence; keeping our children safe should be a high priority for everyone.
