Is Every Marriage Different?

“Every marriage is different. Nobody should tell you how to handle your marriage. Do it your own way.”
Really? Where did you get this ‘wisdom’ from?
After doing marriage their own way, 87% of married couples from Luxembourg divorced. The divorce rates in Spain hit 65%. France – 55%. Russia – 51%. (Source: Family Lawyers, Sydney - 29th Sept 2017).
Contrastingly, I’ve talked to couples who had filed divorce letters and they reconciled. There are couples who attended my marriage seminar when their marriage was hanging on the balance and they renewed their nuptial vows in my meeting. There are couples who did my online course and rekindled their marriage.
Why?
Marriage is both an art and a science. The art part of marriage is your personal creativity, ingenuity and unique way of doing stuff that cannot be taught, duplicated or destroyed. The science aspect of marriage is the fact that there are universal principles that can be applied by every couple.
For example, all happy marriages are founded on trust. You can scream on the roof top of Burj Khalifa in Dubai or walk totally nude in Mall of America, Bloomington, Minnesota, but that won’t change this fact. That absolute transparency and accountability create security in marriage is a fact your personal hypothesis will never alter.
Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
