“Into every life some rain must fall”!

Top of the weekend my friends! I begin today’s weekend diatribe with a quote from the American poet and educator Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The quote comes from his poem “Rainy Day”:

“Into every life some rain must fall”!

Wikipedia says the great Ella Fitzgerald’s duet with Bill Kenny from the Ink Spots in 1944 is why that slogan is so popular!?

It was the number one song on the Harlem Hit Parade that year and a very popular phase that has stood the test of time!

As a side note, some people actually enjoy the rain while others just get wet. More on that later.

Anyway, this week I spent a handful of days in the hospital for heart issues and high blood pressure. I really couldn’t breathe and barely able to walk to the emergency room entrance.?

It was like Grey’s Anatomy. I was quickly ushered into a room and the testing began. One of the findings was “A-Fib”! Where the heart is not pumping the fluids in your body to the right areas. I couldn’t see it but there was a slight water build up on my legs.

Enters the cardiologist. He’s got a great sense of humor. Also had a hallucinogenic carpet ride interview style too.?

Do you smoke? Nope! Drink Nope! Use any illegal Drugs of any kind, Nope! Foods high in sodium Nope! I was actually a vegetarian for the better part of 30 years doc. Okay hummmm?

Workout Yep! Pretty much everyday and drink plenty of water.?

How about sugary beverages Nope! Don’t like em. Tack on a few more questions like this and his conclusion was “maybe that’s why it’s taken me so long to meet you”? Heartwarming huh?

Timeline, this past week I go from taking no medicine to a dozen different multi-colored prescriptions. As a matter of fact, the last time I was admitted into the hospital. I was 13 years old. It’s true, “Into every life some rain must fall”!

However you need rain’s nutrients to grow. Today I can breathe! The nurses were wonderful. Some of them I knew from opening their door at Starbucks every morning. Those ladies took real good care of your boy.

I’m not quite out of the woods yet. The next check up is Monday. Please keep me in your prayers. Again “Into every life some rain must fall”! And “Donut” ever forget some people actually enjoy the rain while others just get wet!

Hope you're better soon. I pray the doctors will determine you don't need all of those medications.

Praying for good news on Monday! And I really ENJOY the rain… especially when I don’t have to drive in it!
