Every Hero Needs a Guide!

Every Hero Needs a Guide!

Leading Your Teen Series #3: Some suggest we?ramp up our war on drugs.?Others that we end our war on drugs. But this misses the point that the only real war out there is the one being waged against our sons, daughters, nieces, and nephews. Like it or not,?the?battle does not begin with:

  • border security,
  • law enforcement,
  • principals,
  • teachers, or
  • coaches.

It begins with you and your teen.?

It is a false sense of security to believe we can delegate our teen's safety to a dozen unknown agencies?to?protect them against?binge drinking, drug use, and vaping in high school. Only they can confront this storm that leaves in its wake:

  • Wrecked cars,
  • Team expulsions,
  • Lost scholarships,
  • Injuries,
  • Unwanted addictions, and
  • Broken friendships.

They must be a hero. And every hero needs a guide. That's where you come in.

Legal and illegal suppliers:?

  • Have a sophisticated distribution system,
  • Are relentless in the promotion of their product,
  • Are usually glamorized by Hollywood.

You the guide, on the other hand:

  • Work crazy hours,
  • Are distracted by 100 things - and the last time?anyone checked,
  • You are not glamorized by Hollywood.

And, you've probably come to realize ...

Today's teenage world is very different than ours was.

When you and I were in high school:

  • The THC levels of pot were 3.5%. Now it's 12%.
  • There was no such thing as 'vaping'.
  • Police officers were as likely to give you a 'courtesy ride' home back to your parents, than they were to arrest you.
  • Our embarrassing behavior was not posted online for all the world to see forever.

Different times call for different measures.

Arm your teen with a?simple and powerful?plan of action. See the trailer to The Promise Agreement course here or to download one free.

  • It helps them make their decision before ‘the ask’.
  • It puts them in control and gives them enormous confidence.
  • It helps them resist peer pressure.

You can also download a free copy of The Promise Agreement at our website. Learn ...

  • Why it keeps things simple,
  • How it empowers your teen,
  • What to do when there is a stumble,

Help your teen see past Friday night. Because ...

Every story needs a hero. Every hero needs a guide!
