Every Generation Faces Financial Challenges | Nerida Conisbee

Like many parents, I wondered how my 28 year old daughter Emily would ever afford to get into the property market.??

We discussed getting into property from a very early age, which gave her a passion for real estate and helped her understand the value of earning money and putting it aside for something special. From an early age, looking at ways to be resourceful in earning pocket money became an enjoyable game.??

Emily took a big leap moving to Sydney at the age of just 19, working hard to fulfil her dream two years ago of buying her first property, a one bedroom inner city apartment, which, like many young people, will soon come off low interest rates.?

This was all done through dedication and determination, without any help from the bank of Mum and to share a proud mother moment, as testimony to her hard work, she was this week named one of the youngest females to make the list of top 50 female real estate agents in Australia.?Click here to read more

Along with many first home buyers about to come off the fixed rate honeymoon, she is facing the challenge of a mortgage tripling in one of the world's most expensive cities, with a pragmatic attitude.

I was reminded this week by our Ray White Chief Economist Nerida Conisbee, that every generation of first home buyers, faces their own challenges leaping into the property market.

In a candid interview, recorded below, Nerida discusses her own experience in the 90's where, while property prices were lower, unemployment was at an all time high as were interest rates.?

She also said that the longer purchasing a property was put off, the harder it was to get into the market and that starting young was the best wealth strategy, particularly for retirement.?

On a side note, I'm excited to be working on a passion project to bring a regular podcast featuring stories of those who have succeeded through sheer determination.?

I'm very grateful to feature Nerida Conisbee on our first GROW Podcast. If you are interested, please feel free to?click here to subscribe?or?watch the full video below.

Property of the Week

We have had an incredible response to this iconic New Farm Landmark,?Evelyn Court".?

Available for the first time publicly, this cherished entire floor apartment has its own private lift access and spans 310sqm.

Tightly held, New Farm's landmark, iconic Art Deco "Evelyn Court" encompasses the charm of Hollywood's golden age.

Enjoying a dress circle position amid some of Brisbane's most coveted homes, this elite block of only 6 apartments are highly sought and rarely offered to the market.

Please contact me if you wish to arrange a private viewing.

Warm regards,

Christine
