EVERY DAY, not just once a year

Halloween is in a couple of days, and I love that it doesn’t take that much to dress up in this town. In San Francisco, we dress to express our true selves EVERY DAY, not just once a year. 

I’m not super old. I wasn’t born and raised in the City either. But when I’m at one of Beach Blanket Babylon’s final shows, I am…torn. Part of me says: “Wow, this is soooo cool” and the other part just feels sad about the loss of the real San Francisco I love. It reminds me why I moved here: to see people be who they want to be. and express what they want to express. 

So I ask you: How is the undercurrent of San Francisco holding up? Do we have the means to support the foundation of what keeps San Francisco true to itself? What else celebrates “San Francisco, Open your golden gate, You’ll let nobody wait outside your door…”? Who keeps celebrating this amazing town??? 

Remember business owners: if the employees of Beach Blanket Babylon can dress insane and still be professionals, so can your staff. I guarantee it, you’re much safer with people who show their true colors in daylight than those who hide it in the dark. 

 That’s why I take so much pride in 111 Minna Gallery, the place where we work every day to support the true spirit of this town, by supporting our staff, the artists we feature, and the people we work with to realize their events. 

 EVERY DAY, not just one day a year.
