Every Click Matters!!

Last week I was working with financial data, and each time there was need to use aggregations like Sum, Max, Min, Avg and so on. That's where I got to know below method.

When we pull the measure field to canvas the default aggregation would be ‘SUM’ but say if we want to change to other then we follow below steps

1.      Select the measure fields and drop in Row/Column Shelf.

2.      Right click on the field

3.      Hover on item Measure(Sum)

4.      Choose on required aggregation from pop-up

So to change to different aggregation we literally used 4 step’s. That’s where my Newton movement came ??

I accidently figured out with single step we can change the aggregation of the fields.

Just Right click on the Measure field and drag to Row/Column shelf. Tableau would give below window to choose aggregation. That’s it, we can choose the aggregation in few click and we reduced few extra clicks.
