For Every Action, There is an Equal and Opposite Reaction

For the past few thousand years, there has been a super human nature to everything we have seen and experienced. The speed of growth has been absolutely incredible. Technology and related advances have been absolutely mind-boggling. We have witnessed several changes in the world since the advent of the Industrial Revolution, however never before had the speed been so astounding. With the new found speed, while we did do a lot of things that were extremely progressive in nature, we also did a lot of damage to the fabric of mother nature.
Playing God, fiddling with nature is certainly something that is really fraught with risks. Add to it, the very fact that human beings really do not have a clear enemy in sight...well not other the self destructive nature that is embedded in our genes. You cannot alter that now, can you. Here is where nature has been a great leveler. We have in the last couple of centuries been eating through forests, drinking through oceans and slurping our way through almost everything you can possibly perceive and imagine. I even reading articles a few years ago about the fact that we should now turn our heads to the meteors and start excavating those to rid them of the possible riches. So, from running the planet bone dry to now moving our focus to what is meandering across the universe; we are just about doing anything that you would have seen in some Hollywood flick.
That brings me to Sir Isaac Newton's law that clearly states that "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction" and what more relevance can you possibly think about that this law at this time in these very trying times for the human race. Rewind and think again, our greed and need led us to think that all that we see is for us and we are the masters of anything fathomable. We cannot be ruled so we can run amok. We trampled everything in our path, burned forest lands and ate more than we had an appetite for. Now all those actions seem to reverberate. I do remember watching a fascinating video in BBC that the destruction of human race may see a comeback of epic sorts for all the species that we have destroyed, is a testimonial to what we have done to this planet. Today, while we choke on our own mistakes we get to sit back and think on the Need vs Want question. Remember, we have to choose wisely as every action will definitely see an equal and opposite reaction, one probably we might not have the strength to recover from.
Well-written Sudheen!
