After years of delays and uncertainty, Kenya’s $3.6 billion Nairobi-Mombasa Expressway finally gained momentum in May this year.
A new agreement between Everstrong Capital , a U.S.-based infrastructure investment firm, and the Kenya National Highways Authority (KenHA) set the stage for the 440-km expressway to become a reality.

2 个月Betterman Musasia we became more British to the extend that we are always thinking of subjugation. That Expressway is proposed so as to financially benefit a few men who will die in the next 20 years anyways. They don't care about whether it actually benefits Kenyans but how much they can make from the deal. Look at a nigga like Kibaki. He amassed lots of land in Narumoru. He knew he didn't have much life left in him, but off he amassed the land. The land is enough to resettle the over 350k Kenyans who were internally displaced because he stole an election in 2007 and still there would be some change! Luckily, death is an equaliser!

2 个月The question is this expressway even necessary? Given it is a debt / tax on the Kenyan people. We have the SGR which should have significantly reduced traffic on the highway. 3.6 B USD is the equivalent of Kenya's annual budget. What is the cost benefit of spending that money on one highway? This money would totally transform Kenya if it was devolved to constituencies to fund projects that people actually need! If you are Kenyan, imagine if 10 billion Kenya shillings were to be dropped in your rural Constituency? Every road would be tarmacked, every home would have running water and electricity. Ben Mokaya
