Arrival Welcome At Tribhuvan International Airport,Kathmandu(1300m/4260ft).
After finishing passport, immigration and visa requirement formalities, our guide and representative receives you for short transfer to your hotel. The shedule for this day is afternoon free, evening a welcome dinner, introduction to your guide and a briefing on the trek with a check on necessities and overnight at hotel.
Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing and trekking preparation.
After morning breskfast our city guide will take you for a day tour around Kathmandu valley including five of cultural world heritage sites: Swayambhunath, the popularly known as “monkey temple”; the city’s historical Durbar Square with ancient temples, unique art and architecture as well as the Kumari (living goddess); Patan’s Durbar Square; the Hindu temple Pashupatinath and Bouddhanath, the world’s largest stupa.
A car and driver will facilate you and wait for you at each site-entrance with free entry tickets and lunch.
Fly Kathmandu to Phakding (2 610m/8560ft) via Lukla(2800m/9190ft), a 35 min flight and a 3-4 hrs trek.
After having breakfast, we will move to the Tribhuvan International airport and take a flight to the Tenzing Hillary airport in Lukla. After landing at the airport, you will arrive in the Khumbu region which is in the south of Everest. There, our local porters will carry your luggages and begin the adventure by trekking to the Dudh Koshi Valley along with Cheplung (2 700m) and Ghat (2 530m). We have to walk another hour to reach Phakding.We will stop for overnight in Phakding.
Trek Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3 440m/11 290ft) :5-6 hrs.
We will walk through pine forests along the Dudh Koshi crossing tributaries to reach the Sherpa villages of Benkar (2 710m), Chumoa (2 820m), Monjo (2 840m) and Jorsale (2 830m). This is the gateway and checkpoint the Sagarmatha National Park permission. Thamserku (6 618m) is in the east of the village. We will follow the river Bhote Koshi which is the major river draining the Khumbu District. Then, we will climb steadily crossing the high Tenzing-Hilary Bridge,the first glimpses of Everest and the Nuptse-Lhotse ridge. After another three hours’ climb through forested area take you to Namche Bazaar which is the administrative and trade center of the region. We wil stop for overnight in Namche Bazaar.
At Namche Bazaar: Acclimatization and exploration day.
This will be for the first acclimatization day of this trek. At least a 24 hr rest is required to reduce Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) and to be active. The best advice for acclimatization is to climb high and sleep low. Namche provides ATMs, cyber cafés, restaurants and bakeries as well as a colorful market on each Friday evening and Saturday morning. The Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park Visitor’s Centre has informative displays with Sherpa culture, local flora and fauna.
The village of Khumjung (3 780m) portrays a more traditional view of Sherpa life than Namche. We will spend a morning walking up through a circular trail to reach the village. At least, we will visit the closer Everest View Hotel (3 880m). We will walk a more adventurous five-hour trek west to Thame (3 820m). Below the impressive Kongde Ri Ridge (6 187m), you will panoramic Himalayan landscapes not visible from the Gokyo or Everest trails.
Trek Namche Bazaar to Phortse (3 810m/12 500ft):5-6 hrs.
From the top of Namche, the trail reaches to a hill to Sanasa (3 600m). A trail fork, NW to Gokyo and NE to Everest. There, we can view the Himalayan tahrs on high ground, shy spotted deer and birds(including Danphe, the colourful national bird).Then, we will turn to NW along the slopes of Khumbila (5 761m) into the Dudh Khosi Valley and head up to Mong La (3 975m). We will ascend to Phortse Thenga (3 680m) through pine and rhododendron forest.Then, we will drop to cross the Dudh Koshi river and climb steeply passed walled terraces to Phortse. We will stay overnight in Phortse.
Trek Phortse to Tengboche (3 870m/12 700ft):4-5 hrs.
We will walk downward through rhododendron and conifer forest, into the Imja Khola Valley.Then, we will cross the Imja Khola that rises from the vast glacier fields surrounding Imja Tse (6 189m) Island Peak which is a popular trekking Peak to the east. We will ascend through forest to the hilltop village of Tengboche.
There,we can have good views from all around the village including the view of the Everest group. There is a worth visiting monastery. We will stay overnight in Tengboche.
Trek Tengboche to Monjo (2 800m/9 450ft) via Namche Bazaar (3 440m/11 290ft) :5-6 hrs.
The trail is more direct to Namche Bazaar. We will walk down through rhododendron and juniper forest and cross the Dudh Koshi at Phunki Thenga (3 250m) which is the lowest point north of Namche. We will come back to Namche Bazaar for lunch. Then, we will descend into the greener valley and Jorsale (2 830m). We will exit from the National Park and walk down to Monjo at a more comfortable altitude. We will stay overnight at Monjo.
Trek Monjo to Lukla (2 800m/9 190ft): 5-6 hrs.
Following the Dudh Koshi,we will walk through farming villages to Phakding (2 610m).After crossing the suspension bridge at Thado Koshi, we walk to Cheplung (2 700m) and descend.We will climb steeply back to Lukla where your porters will take their leave. You will stay overnight in Lukla.
Fly Lukla to Kathmandu (1 300m/4 260ft):35 min flight.
After having an early breakfast, we will take the flight to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.You will rest the whole day.
Final Departure
This is the day for departing but it is a start for other visits! You are leaving this small heaven; missing the life and time you spent here. You will fly back to your destination/home taking memory of the country of Lord Buddha. Nature Heaven Treks and Expedition will be with you to drop off at the Airport/Bus Station. We must plan to reach airport about 3 hours for boarding and customs purposes.
