The term Onboarding originates from the 1970s according to Business Today , however the concept seems more linked to good leadership. As early as the conception of the Job Methods aka J-Methods, the Job Relations method has similar characteristics with welcoming and caring for the wellbeing of employees on a continual basis. Amber Watts stopped by the podcast to discuss a concept that has been taking hold as the evolution of best onboarding practices on a continual basis or Everboarding.
What is onboarding?
To really get the purpose of onboarding, we have to look at it from all perspectives. The organization benefits greatly by ensuring new hires get the opportunity to learn about the culture, vision, and mission of the company. The term "onboarding" suggests you are starting a new journey in your career and here's the help you need to make it a great experience. Unfortunately, not many companies see the value of onboarding and end up treating it like a chore or the one chance to push 20 compliance courses down your pupils.
