Ever wondered why it's Python & why it's Pandas!

I was curious...here's why:

It has nothing to do with the snake you usually imagine. In December of 1989, when Van Rossum was implementing a new programming language, he needed a name that was short, unique, and slightly mysterious, so he decided to call the language Python - taken from his favorite BBC comedy series of 1970s- Monty Python's Flying Circus.

And the name 'Pandas' comes from the econometrics term 'panel data' describing data sets that include observations over multiple time periods.
