Use unconditional love of yourself and your spouse. This means you love yourself for who you are, shortcomings and all. You also do the same for your spouse.

By applying curiosity, engagement and unconditional love you are opening a path to self healing. You are no longer needing or expecting your spouse to heal your inner wounds.
