Men lie because of 4 primary reasons:

1.  They Afraid of the Reaction or Consequence.

2.  They’re covering something up because.. __________.

3.  They think, SOMEHOW, it’s better to tell you what they think you want to hear instead of sharing what their honest thoughts or emotions are because YOU WON’T APPROVE OR LIKE THEM OR LIKE WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY – IF THEY DO.

4.  They’re compulsive obsessive types who have issues that can border on the pathological behavior when honesty, authenticity and transparency characteristics are concerned

#1, #2 & #3 come from that childhood imprint period for all of us which is that 0-7 or 0-10 years of age life phase for us. 

If it’s #4, best to call a doctor, a lawyer, 911 or a licenses professional therapist who can assist further with that kind of situation.

That IMPRINT PERIOD, when and where we are hardwired with our Life emotional and mental operating software.  

This is when our experiences and emotions and meanings become “fixed” in such a way that it can tend to dominate how we see life, how we see ourselves and how we see others and the world, as a whole.

Then after the IMPRINT PERIOD, we have the MODELING PERIOD OF 11-17 years of age or 7-14/15/16/17 years of age depending on which version of cognitive or behavior psychology and sociology school of thought one uses.

To make it simple here, let’s just say it’s

0-10 = IMPRINT PERIOD;

and 11-20 – MODELING PERIOD.

So, however we started ACTING AND FEELING AND BEHAVING around mom, dad, brothers, sisters, teachers, peers, bff’s, classmates, family and friends in the 0-20 period in years of age of our life will pretty much determine how we set our conscious and unconscious filters with which we determine our MEANING MAKING WORLD IN TERMS OF:

1.  VALUES = What’s most important in our life that we value and want the most.

2.  IDENTITIES = How we see and define ourselves, others and the world around us. I AM statements. THEY ARE statements. YOU ARE statements and IT IS statements.

3.  BELIEFS – How the World works based on our 0-10/0-20 years of age experiences. PEOPLE ARE statements. MEN ARE statements. WOMEN ARE statements. MONEY DOESN’T GROW ON TREES kinds of statements.

4.  EXPECTATIONS = Our benchmarks on HOW & WHAT we see ourselves and others GETTING & ACHIEVING in terms of successes and failures. Married and Financially Successful by 35 is an example. So it has the element of age-stage-success (by the time I’m ‘X” years of age or in 5-10-15-20 years).

If we think it’s more important to protect a woman’s feelings than to tell the truth, that would be an example of a Values or Belief piece. So we will design a strategy to attempt to do both of these assuming that both being honest and protecting a female partner are BOTH important values to us.

When push comes to shove, if we can’t do both, we will pick the one that has a higher priority in our mind and in our world and use a strategy to realize that higher priority.

So, Men WILL GIVE YOU REASONS AND EXCUSES BASED ON THEIR MODEL OF THE WORLD WHICH IS BASED ON THEIR VALUES, IDENTITIES, BELIEFS AND EXPECTATIONS from the first 20 years of life on Earth as a human male being. 

And they will keep using strategies that reflect these V.I.B.E.-oriented behaviors tweaking them over time as they grow into adulthood and beyond. 

Emotional Availability and Emotional Maturity DO NOT GO HAND IN HAND WITH A MATURE PHYSICAL MALE BODY!!

All the reasons a man will ever give you are around his V.I.B.E. and his ability to share from that place and space of his level of emotional availability and emotional maturity. 

HIS COMMUNICAITON SKILLS – VERBAL AND NON-VERBAL – WILL ALSO BE ON DISPLAY WHEN HE TELLS YOU…

REASONS-EXCUSES

-I didn’t want to hurt your feelings.

-I thought you’d be or get upset if you knew.

-I want to protect you.

-You really couldn’t handle the truth.

-I did something wrong and didn’t want to tell you.

-I wanted something from you, so I did and/or said what I thought would work to get you to do it.

-I’m really a selfish, narcissistic, egomaniac with an inferiority complex.. AND I didn’t want you to know-find out..so I .. ____________.

-You really didn’t want to know

-I’ve got..a problem/problems/a disease/a sickness and I’m a compulsive.. ________ (I can’t help myself…)- LIAR, CHEATER, GAMBLER, ADDICT, PLAYER, CON ARTIST

So, Women hear lies and more because the men aren’t being honest with themselves or with their relationships in their communication FOR A BUNCH OF REASONS AS INUMERATED ABOVE. AND IT ALL STARTS FROM CHILDHOOD. ‘BE A GOOD LITTLE BOY JOHNNY!”

Look at famous and infamous men. Look at social judgements and how sometimes what you say on the Internet or Facebook can feel like a bunch of people start jumping and piling on top.

Add to that the fact that all the news is about “IF IT BLEEDS, IT LEADS” and reality shows full of drama and spectacles along with the Bill Clintons I did not have…. Or Trumpism or whatever else you see out there as duplicitous, hypocritical, “fake” realities that get pushed out by social norms and behaviors AND IT’S A FRICKIN’ MIRACLE WE EVER GET HONEST AND AUTHENTIC AND TRANSPARENT WHEN WE ARE SURROUNDED BY DRAMA, TRAUMA AND FAKE STUFF. (This last paragraph statement may have my V.I.B.E. filters in it – SEE WHAT I MEAN? ??) 

And so, Men hear bitching and nagging and complaining. And, Women see and hear lies and dishonesty and lose trust and integrity with someone when they say one thing and do another.

AS I SHARED IN THE LAST WRITING…

If we can get to THESE ISSUES early enough in the relationship, we can find the right TOOLS OR SKILLS SETS that FIT THE SITUATION-ISSUE and we can FIX THE PROBLEM..”
