Ever thought of being an Entrepreneur?

This blank blank pandemic has certainly been a pain in (you know where), but it also, I believe, has changed the foundation of how we look at work.?Many are defining themselves (and their lives) differently. ?Folks actually have many employers over-the-barrel and can dictate their lives more.
Many of us have daydreamed over the years about setting our own schedule and being our own boss, but few of us had the courage…until maybe now!?Very few people grow up wishing and hoping for a 9 to 5 job that is repetitive and has little, if any, chance for promotion.?Did you as a 15-year-old say to yourself: “oh I hope I can drive in rush hour traffic coming and going each day on the way to an office in where I may (or not) be appreciated like dad”!?Lol.?No, I didn’t either!
I’m not saying I have some rare perspective on the state of employment, but I have had the experience of wearing many different hats, and it certainly has shaped why I do what I do now.??And why I enjoy myself sooooo much now!
Some of you daydream about not working at all.?I can’t ever see me not being involved in someway with a job/goal/quest/something.?We now change jobs or careers almost as frequently as our shirt (kidding).?No more stay with one company for 30-years.?No more stay in one field until you are put out-to-pasture (man I hate that term).
I have been so blessed that I found something that floats-my boat (love all the clichés?).??Yeah, I didn’t think so!?Anyway, the news articles and the statistics got me thinking and to write this article.?It is shocking how the last couple of years has changed the work environment.
The stay at home and work virtual has been amazing for some.?And, let’s face it, you are not in any hurry to go back, if at all.?It looks like working at home is here to stay.?In some ways, that is a good thing.?Less traffic.?Less filling up your gas tank.?Less wasted time away from home!

Quoting a December 5th article by Josh Bersin, “The labor market has gone a bit crazy. In the United States, there are more than?161 million people working?and?15.7 million jobs open. This means that roughly one in 10 seats in your office are empty, and you’re competing with everyone else for staff.
Adding to this frenzy, the job creation continues. This month more than?530,00 new jobs were created?and the unemployment rate is now down to 4.6% (and dropping).”??Yikes!!
Also from Bersin: “In fact, the Quit Rate, the number of people who voluntarily leave positions, is?now 3.4%?(4.4 million last month), by far the highest we’ve ever seen. So, in the middle of all these job openings, almost a third of Americans will voluntarily change jobs this year. McKinsey’s research found that two-thirds of these job seekers do not have a new position, so people are feeling very optimistic about their opportunities.”
Jobs are plentiful.?Pay checks have had to go up, and they have.?The economy is actually quite strong.?What a great time to try something different.?What a great time to follow your dreams and become an entrepreneur!
I took a course that many of you can relate to by spending my 1st 20-years employed having to follow specific rules and times.?I HAD to be at work at a certain time.?I HAD to stay until a certain time.?When I went into the world of real estate it was like going to employment heaven!?I set my entire schedule.?I loved it and would never go back to being told when, what, and how to spend my day.
I highly recommend, at some time in your life, about being your own boss!!
