Ever slept in a retired bus?

A Singapore bus ticket costs just one dollar, but sleeping on one costs three hundred and eighty-eight dollars.

The Bus Collective is the first resort hotel in Southeast Asia to convert abandoned public buses into opulent guestrooms.

Twenty buses that were once operated by Singapore's public transport provider, SBS Transit, were refurbished for the hospitality industry.

Reservations for the resort hotel are already open on its website, and it will open officially on December 1.

Situated in Changi Village, Singapore, The Bus Collective occupies an area of 8,600 square metres.

The Changi Village Hawker Centre, Changi East Boardwalk, and Changi Chapel & Museum are just a short distance away from the property.

There are seven different types of rooms in the resort hotel, and each has a unique set of features. The starting nightly rent for a room is SG$398 ($296), and certain rooms have a bathtub and a king-sized bed.

A resort hotel spokesman told CNBC that among the several room types, the Pioneer North room has handrails in the shower and toilet area, designed to satisfy the needs of elderly customers.

As an alternative, she said, the Hamilton Place room is wheelchair accessible and has a ramp up to the entrance as well as an exterior accessible lavatory.

According to the resort's website, each 45 square metre room can hold three or four people. Certain elements of these retired buses have been kept, such the windows, driver seat, and steering wheel, even though they have been completely renovated.

Although there are no recreational options on the property, the spokesman mentioned that The Bus Collective will be offering guided tours, which visitors can reserve at the experience centre of the resort hotel.

Biking around Pulau Ubin, an island off the coast of Singapore, is one of the tours that is provided. The cost of this tour is SG$99 per person, which covers transportation by ferry to and from the island in both directions. Sailing at Changi Sailing Club and a guided cuisine tour are two more activities.
