Ever notice that the happiest people are usually those who give the most?

In places like Karamoja, Uganda, we met inspiring people who, given the opportunity, are finding ways to uplift their community and impact future generations.

Pictured below is Auma, who has dedicated her life to educating others in her village. After countless hours of work, with support from GiveDirectly , she built a classroom that has now become a school, for over 200 children and has hired seven teachers from the community.

Another story we want to share with you is that of Ruth, originally a housewife struggling to provide for her family, who dreamed of nothing more than a “simple life”.

With support from these payments, she opened a successful supply store. This entrepreneurial spirit and determination to improve herself is the reason her success is impacting not only her children’s lives but the greater community, demonstrating that all it took was someone giving her the opportunity to succeed.
