Ever Had a Favorite Student?

?BRING JOY BACK: THIS WEEK

Have you ever had a favorite student?

?I must confess, I did:

I loved Howard's unbridled enthusiasm. It's what got me out of bed each and every day. And I worried to death for him because I knew he would get Ms. Hampton next year, and she was going to misinterpret his energy as a discipline problem because she was a direct descendant of Satan.

Howard taught me so much. He knew how to command the classroom with his intensity and passion. He enunciated clearly and repeated himself when he got to key points. Most importantly, though, Howard taught me NEVER to give people answers. Answers don't help people. Howard showed me how much more valuable it is to provide people with strategies to equip them with tools to help address any circumstances.

The old parable says that if you give a person a fish, you feed that person for a day. But if you teach a person to fish, you feed that person for a lifetime. Let's nourish the souls in our care by providing them with tools to last a lifetime.

I'm on a mission to bring joy back into education. If you liked the video, please give it a "thumbs up" and write a short comment. Feel free to contact me whenever you need anything, and thanks for all you do.

All the best, and God bless!
Danny ;-)
