Ever gone viral due to a tree?

I never would've thought a hurricane would be great for content but well, I guess stranger things have happened.?

?

My client Lorraine Ladish had a large tree branch fall thru the roof of her home during Hurricane Milton.?

As you can see, I wasn't kidding about the tree branch in her kiddo's room. And yes, she had fun with it.?

I love Lorraine for A LOT of reasons, but her ability to deal with the stuff that life throws her way, is really incredibly admirable. I would say I don't know how she does it.?

But I know how she does her best to roll with the punches.?

K, I've digressed. ?Back to the tree. Thankfully they had evacuated & were safe. At this point, they're dealing with the paperwork and patience that comes with post hurricane insurance issues.?

?

So she's got a tree branch in her home. It ended up being there, hanging out (literally) in her home for a few days before they were able to get it removed.

?

Now they've got a skylight in their roof

Hopefully not for long.?

?

As Lorraine does, she embraced the situation with A LOT of humor and creativity. Immediately she made content.?

?

When I say it went viral, I mean it went viral. Check out her IG and Tiktok below!

Immediately news outlets started reaching out to her, including The Good News Movement IG profile. Yes, she got showcased on their channel. ?And this is where I want you to pay attention as I share our experience and lessons of her going viral.?

?

  1. Going viral does NOT translate to followers. And that's okay. Her viral content (hurricane damage) is NOTHING like her regular content (being a mid-life influencer, disrupting aging, her health issues etc). If someone did follow her because of the tree reel, chances are high they'd soon unfollow when she went back to her regular programming of content.? ?
  2. Read the fine print if/when global news outlets want to share your story. 99% of the time, they want you to agree that your story will be exclusive with them. Do NOT agree to that. Push back and redline that request.? ?
  3. Doing this tree content was such a random, what the hell moment for Lorraine that it gave her the freedom to go out of her lane of how she usually does content. She's not in the opening first couple clips, it's not about her and it was pure entertainment. Lean into it when you can.
