The Ever Changing Real Estate Market
Our Real Estate Markets overall at the National Level, we are finding we have plenty of buyers, great interest rates for lenders, however, not enough inventory. Currently, many Realtors have buyers they cannot find properties for. I am no exception. This is all going on in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic. I do believe that part of the issue with lack of inventory is a result of COVID. I also believe many are waiting to see if inventory stays down, will it make my home worth more. It may or may not, we have no way to tell in any market. One thing is for certain it will change.
I am no expert, however my best guess as time moves forward this year, that sometime in the Spring, inventory will start to increase as people are moving for employment, changes in the pandemic, as well as homes going on the market that have been foreclosed. Sometimes a REO property (Real Estate Owned) is a very good bargain if you don't mind putting in a little work to make it liveable or whatever you wish to do with a new home.
One thing is for certain, once this market changes, and we have an influx of additional inventory, the home owners who wish to sell their homes will have to make sure the home is in show room condition so to speak to get the best dollar amount for their properties. A suggestion I have is to have a pre listing home inspection. As a Realtor like any other Realtor, I do recommend these so any repairs are made up front to help you sell your home.
