Eventstorming in Action

I am currently preparing a workshop on site using Eventstorming to gather insights on an established process. The goal is, to evaluate the needs of the different business units in their current and future environment and align that with requirements on Software and IT Requirements. Of course doing it in Miro might save some ressources but the most value you can get is from the discussions in the room while physically mapping the events on a timeline of the workshop room.

In today's fast-paced business landscape, it's crucial for organizations to constantly innovate, optimize processes, and foster seamless collaboration between different business units. That's where Event Storming comes into play. ??

Event Storming isn't just another buzzword; it's a dynamic methodology that brings together diverse teams and unearths profound insights into complex processes. ??

Imagine this: Business analysts, developers, designers, and stakeholders from various units all in one room, intensely focused on mapping out the intricate flow of events within your business process. What emerges is not just a visual representation but a shared understanding and aha moments that transcend departmental boundaries. ??

Here's why Event Storming is your go-to approach:

?? Puzzle Pieces Fit Together: By visualizing the flow of events, you can identify overlaps, gaps, and dependencies you might have otherwise missed.

?? Team Collaboration: Event Storming encourages cross-functional teams to collaborate, promoting shared ownership of the process.

?? Continuous Improvement: Real-time discussions foster innovation, allowing for immediate refinement of processes and interfaces.

?? Interface Discoveries: The real magic happens when you uncover those intriguing interface points where one business unit's output becomes another's input. This is where the most exciting discussions take place!

?? Shared Insights: Uniting teams in a room leads to the generation of collective wisdom, paving the way for data-driven decision-making.

I suggest following Domain-Driven Design Europe and as well check out publications from Michael Pl?d Hands-on Domain-driven Design and of course from Alberto Brandolini and his book Introduction EventStorming.
