Nazish Shekha , Head of Initiative, along with Rajaa Bokhari , Programme Manager, and Safia Hussain , Programme Coordinator, led a workshop on Corporate Sustainability through the Lens of the UN SDGs for Ismail Industries. The workshop highlighted the significance of the SDGs and their integration within the company's management framework. Delving deeper, the team provided insightful strategies on effectively documenting Ismail Industries' advancements towards the SDGs, while also offering guidance on identifying pertinent SDGs aligned with the company's objectives. Nazish Shekha, Head of Initiative, and Dure Sameen Akhund , Sustainability Research Manager at CERB, participated in the Sustainability Conference 2024 by textile giant, Artistic Milliners. Nazish Shekha shared insights on pioneering green financing methods for bolstering sustainable textile practices during the 'Investing in Change: How Green Financing Can Drive Textile Sustainability' panel. Meanwhile, Sameen Akhund moderated a discussion on 'Renewable Energy and Decarbonization within the Textile Industry, aligning with the SBTI.' The dialogue underscored the imperative for textile industries to synchronize with climate science, addressing challenges in setting and achieving science-based targets (SBTi). Emphasis was placed on equitable transitions to renewable energy, with panelists elaborating on strategies for Pakistani textile businesses, in collaboration among brands, manufacturers, and policymakers to expedite decarbonization efforts within the sector.
