An Eventful February

What a month, we hosted successful conferences, participated in charity rallies, career fairs, and expos, and conducted 'open' days. Inter-office travels and celebrations were the other highlights of February. In this edition, we talk about Deriv's triumphs.

Business events

South Asian Partner Conference

Deriv Dubai hosted the conference, which South Asian-based affiliates from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal attended at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Canal View.

The discussion topics included digital marketing tips on growing their network, payment agents and payment systems, Deriv P2P, Deriv API and DBot, instruments and platforms, Deriv X and Deriv MT5, and usability testing. There was also a showcase of our partners’ success stories and their testimonials. ?

It was not all work. The weekend was packed with action, buffet breakfasts and lunches, and networking at iconic and beautiful locations throughout Dubai.

A glitzy, glam Bollywood gala dinner was held on a terrace overlooking the downtown skyline as a way to end the conference in style!

We also ensured the affiliates had a good time with a desert safari, including sandboarding, camel rides, dune bashing, and sampling delicious Emirati cuisine.

Brazilian Affiliate Conference

The Global Partnerships team networked with new affiliates in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The conference gave us the platform to share our business plans, as well as educational materials regarding CFDs on Deriv MT5, Deriv X, and Multipliers.

It was also an excellent opportunity for the partners to network among themselves. Our existing partners also attended the event and shared tips on how to grow as a Deriv partner.

KSUxPwC Malta Careers Expo 2023

We participated in a career expo hosted by Kunsill Studenti Universitarji in Malta on the 28th February. Our team met students and showcased career opportunities at Deriv. Many leading global firms were a part of this 3-day expo.

eFinancialCareers Virtual Career Event

We are also participating in the eFinancialCareers – Tech in Financial Services event on 2 March 2023. Our Talent Acquisition team will discuss the challenging and exciting opportunities in tech. IMT Career Fair

The Talent Acquisition team enjoyed interacting with Finance and Marketing students at the IMT Business School Career Fair in Dubai, held on the 23rd of February.

Some popular topics of discussion with the students included internships, graduate opportunities, and career paths at Deriv.

4L Trophy 2023 Charity Rally?

We sponsored a team for the 4L Trophy 2023 charity rally. The rally supports The Red Cross Foundation and Enfants du Désert — charities that help underprivileged children living in the Moroccan desert.

The rally held from 15th to the 26th February saw a participation of 1,500 student teams driving Renault 4L cars over 6,000 kilometres through the desert from France to Morocco.?Check out some of the video footage.

A trip to Thailand

Our Malaysia offices went on an annual trip to the beautiful Krabi in Thailand. Quad biking in the jungle, boat rides, and even seeing elephants were some fun things they experienced!

Belarus Winter Sports

Belarus Derivians headed to Silichi ski resort in Lahojsk for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing.

Cyprus Smoky Thursday and Saint Valentine’s Day

Our Cyprus office celebrated Tsiknopempti, aka "Smokey Thursday", dressed up for the Carnival and barbeque just before the arrival of Lent.

Tsiknopempti is a Cypriot holiday celebrated during the second week of the Carnival season. Tsiknopempti is derived from the Greek words "tsikna" (meaning grilled or roasted meat) and "pempti" (meaning Thursday).

They also celebrated Saint Valentine's Day with delicious brownies and roses.

Lunar New Year and Investors in People?

Deriv HQ participated in colourful and vibrant Lunar New Year celebrations. They dressed in traditional Chinese attire, witnessed a Lion dance, and enjoyed delicious nian gao, dumplings, fa gao, and much more.

The office also celebrated the achievement of We invest in people, gold accreditation.

It has been a busy month for Deriv. In February, we celebrated our employees' hard work by organising annual trips and honoured various regional and cultural festivals. We were actively engaged in business events that strengthened our relationship with partners, which will positively influence change and shape triumphant business outcomes.
