Event Wrap-Up: PEO-Maritime Undersea (PEO-M) Fault-Tolerant Battery Technology Assessment Event (AE)

SOFWERX, in collaboration with USSOCOM Program Executive Office-Maritime Undersea (PEO-M), hosted an Assessment Event (AE) to identify solutions for submersible vehicle programs fault-tolerant battery technology. In June 2021, SOFWERX hosted a Virtual Collaboration Event (CE) to (1) promote specific areas of interest, (2) encourage an early exchange of information, and (3) provide an opportunity for both Government and Industry to gather more information prior to the release of a formal solicitation. The objective of PEO-M for this AE was to find both mid (2025) and long (2030) term solutions for energy for the PEO-M submersible vehicles.

• 31 Industry participants from 12 organizations presented their technology briefs to the Government team.
• Out of 14 submissions, 11 capabilities were selected.
• A team of 4 USSOCOM representatives listened to technology briefs and had one-on-one conversations with Industry.
• USSOCOM decided which organization(s) they wanted to move forward with within 3 weeks.
