Event Wrap-Up: Innovation Foundry (IF11) Event

SOFWERX, in collaboration with USSOCOM’s Directorate of Science and Technology (S&T), brought together U.S. and International Special Operations Forces (SOF), Industry, Academia, Government, and futurists in an exploration, design thinking, facilitated event to assist USSOCOM in decomposing future scenarios and missions to develop concepts for future SOF Operator skillsets and traits in a 2040 timeframe.

Event Outcomes:

• Out of 297 submissions, 41 SMEs were downselected and participated in the event.
• 32 additional Government representatives participated onsite and virtually.
• Participants could work in teams of like-minded talent to focus on concept areas and solutions.
• The insight gained from the event will be used to shape future efforts for USSOCOM
