The IWA consists of 1900+ members from 156+ countries, which includes former Nobel Prize winners and distinguished, prominent writers and artists from all walks of life. One of their functions is to nominate candidates for the Nobel Prizes for Literature, Peace & Science!
“My Enemy in the Mirror,” is named after a poem David wrote, which was translated into Arabic by Faleeha Hassan, a famous Middle Eastern writer known as the “Maya Angelou of Iraq.” It was published in a magazine called “28” in Gaza in December 2014. This has made him the First American Writer and First Jewish Poet ever published there! And this took place during the War with Israel!
Hatred has been passed down through generations on both sides that has frustrated those who want to do something about it. Yet, there are simple things that can be done if we looked in the mirror and saw who the enemy really is. This way, we can find that the solution really lies within ourselves. Lessons learned here can be applied to other areas in life where there is conflict or animosity, such as: relationships, families, economic, social, political, or religious, differences, etc. There is so much to be gained to build bridges, not walls between people.
Congratulations David!!!! This is awesome. Great things for a great man.
