Aerialscape Event Live Streaming

Saturday 8th October 2016 saw the spectacular stages of The Donegal Motorclub Bayview Hotel Martin Howley Memorial Harvest Stages 2016 based out of Killybegs including town stages in Kilcar and Glencolmcille.

We took a break from the usual aerial filming and Photography and completed our first live stream from 4 of the stages for the event. Taking on the the project was a task to say the least but with a bit of research and support from Cieran Kelly @ Kelco and Paul Reynolds @ the Sony Centre Letterkenny we put together a package to complete the project.

Taking an image from a HD kerb camera into broadcasting software we streamed live to the internet using Vodafone 4G. the images were then transmitted to the Large screen in Killybegs allowing spectators to enjoy some of the action in Killybegs.

Emmet Mc Namee headed the project and had the following thoughts on the stream..

For our first live event it went fairly smooth with a few technical adjustments to be made. This was our maiden event and have learned a lot for future events and plan to increase the number of cameras for the next event to capture more of the action.  The foundations are now in place and our software has many more capabilities to improve for future events.

The general feedback we have received from both the Donegal Motorclub and spectators so far has been positive and we look forward to working with the Donegal Motorclub in the future.
