Event Tech Live London Launchpad Competition voting now OPEN

Voting is now open for the heavily anticipated Launchpad Competition at Event Tech Live (ETL) London.

The competition is open exclusively to start-ups and gives young event tech companies the opportunity to connect with industry buyers and investors.

This year’s competition is sponsored by Cvent, Dahlia+ and Event Industry News who will have representatives on the expert judging panel, alongside other industry veterans such as Camila Zattar from Founders Factory and James Morgan from Event Tech Lab.

The three companies that receive the most public votes will be announced on day one of ETL London (16th?November) and invited to deliver a short presentation on Day 2 in front of a live audience. An expert panel of judges will rank the companies Gold, Silver and Bronze, with a significant prize for each category.

Event Tech Live London will take place from the 16th?– 17th?of November 2022 at ExCeL London.

Inaugural AEO People’s Awards launches

The Association of Event Organisers has launched its inaugural AEO People’s Awards, taking place on the evening of the AEO Forums, on the 27th?of January 2023, at the Business Design Centre in London.

A spinoff of the AEO Excellence Awards, this event is dedicated to recognising the incredible talent on the ground, from junior to middle-management event professionals in marketing, ops, sales and beyond.

MSP Globa l strengthens team following client growth

Production, AV and events specialist?MSP Global has recruited four new team members in response to a surge in client growth.?

Among those is highly-experienced events production specialist Cerys Butcher, who joins the firm as project co-ordinator, responsible for the management of projects from inception to completion. Her background includes delivering radio frequency planning of multi-venue events and working as an artist liaison for large festivals, concerts and clients such as the BBC. She has also completed extensive training in high-level audio equipment such as NEXO, CODA and L’Acoustics.??

SEC intro duces new self-ordering technology at OVO Hydro

The Scottish Event Campus (SEC) has today announced the introduction of a new self-ordering solution at the OVO Hydro. Launched in collaboration with catering partners Levy UK + Ireland, the fleet of 18 kiosks is one of the first of its kind to launch in the UK live entertainment venue, with a focus on enhancing the guest experience and speed of service for every visitor.

Initially launching on level 2 of Scotland’s home of live entertainment, the kiosks will replace the traditional bar service, with guests able to order drinks from the terminals and simply collect their drinks from the six collection points. Guests will also be able to reorder a second round of drinks to collect later in the evening.?
