Women in Exhibitions: Tips on career paths in the world of events

GES cements support for sustainable events as Official Partner of Event Sustainability Live

Global Experience Specialists (GES) has secured an agreement with Event Sustainability Live (ESL) that will see the brand become Official Partner as well as the build specialists of the event. The agreement will also see GES provide infrastructure and consultancy to Event Sustainably Live and its collocated partner event, Event Tech Live.

The partnership is part of GES’ vision to support industry initiatives that create a more sustainable marketplace, and to put into action its own initiatives in green meetings. As part of the partnership the show will ‘signal’ areas of sustainable action across the exhibition, indicating the many positive stories connected with the event build. This will be amplified on GES’s own stand (F40), where the business will share its holistic approach to greener events.

Events Industry Alliance launches new manifesto in Parliament

The Events Industry Alliance (EIA) has launched its new manifesto and key policy asks in their second Parliamentary event as they look towards the next general election. A cross-party group of MPs, including Government ministers and members of the shadow cabinet, in addition to CEOs from across the business events industry were guests at the reception.

Working on behalf of the Association of Event Organisers (AEO), the Association of Event Venues (AEV) and the Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA) the alliance’s main objective is to represent the business events industry which not only fuels travel, tourism and hospitality, but also positively impacts the businesses and supply chains served by those events both across the UK and the world.

London Marathon: International competitors to be charged climate levy

International competitors in the London Marathon will be charged a £26 climate levy as part of efforts to make the race net zero by 2030.

London Marathon Events (LME) said the funds will be used to pay carbon removal company CUR8 to pull 280 tonnes of CO2 from the air.
