Evolution Dome cuts temporary structure power consumption by 45% with fan innovation
As part of its ongoing sustainability developments, Evolution Dome has invested in a new fan system which has resulted in a significant reduction in the power consumption of its inflatable structures.
Ashley Austin, director of Evolution Dome, explained, “The new model promises to unite the straight airflow and ease of installation of axial fans with the high-pressure stability and power efficiency of radial fans. We are already seeing a 45% reduction in the power consumption of our structures as a result.”

Skiddle Promoter Fund 2023 – Championing the next generation of event organisers
Skiddle has recently announced the return of its promoter bursary scheme, this year titled the Skiddle Promoter Fund, in collaboration with not-for-profit trade body, the Night Time Industries Association.
The Skiddle Promoter Fund, supported by the NTIA, which promotes the unique contribution of the nighttime industry in the UK, will be awarded to event organisers specifically running student-focused events in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
£25 million approved for Barbican Centre upgrade
The City of London Corporation has agreed £25 million in funding to start the first phase of the Barbican Renewal Programme, which will reinvigorate the internationally renowned arts and conference venue.
Members of the City Corporation’s Policy and Resources?Committee approved the money to?develop?elements of a?long-term masterplan, undertake further consultation,?and deliver?early?systems and?infrastructure?work?to boost the centre’s?operational and?environmental performance?over the next two years.
Net Zero Carbon Events now has more than 30 financial contributors from across the world
More than 30 major meetings and events industry organisations from across the world are now financial contributors to Net Zero Carbon Events (NZCE), the industry’s global initiative to address climate change that was launched at Cop26 in Glasgow in 2021.
Organisations ranging from convention bureaux, venues and event service suppliers to event organisers and associations are contributing at one of four tiers: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Green.
