Diana Scott has joined The Conference Board as the leader of its US Human Capital Center. She brings a wealth of corporate experience to the organization, having previously served as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Guardian Life Insurance Company, Prologis, Inc., and John Hancock Life Insurance. Prior to her HR roles, she held significant leadership positions in insurance, advertising, and communications, gaining valuable P&L experience. Diana Scott is an alumna of Harvard College, where she earned an A.B. degree.
According to a report by event technology company Cvent, Australian business event professionals are increasing their event volume and spending, despite cost control being their top challenge. The report is based on surveys of over 100 event planners and marketers in Australia.
Data from Knowland, presented at the Hospitality Show and HSMAI ROC Americas, reveals that the volume of one-day events in 2023 has decreased by 57% compared to 2019. This decline is attributed to meetings becoming longer, with two to three days being the preferred duration. The rise of remote work plays a significant role as employers recognize the value of bringing their teams together for extended periods rather than just one day. This shift has impacted airport hotels, which were once popular for quick meetings, as companies now prioritize team-building and in-person collaboration.
Event technology platform Joyn has acquired Arinex, the largest Australian-owned business event management company. The two companies will merge under the Arinex Group brand, with Joyn rebranding as Arinex Live. Arinex CEO Nicole Walker will become Group CEO, and Joyn co-founder and CEO Jordan Walsh will serve as group executive chairman. The deal brings together Joyn's technological expertise and Arinex's strong brand recognition and extensive event management experience.?

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center has appointed LaToya Martin as the Manager of its Small and Emerging Business (SEB) Program.
