An Evening with Motor Driven Reel Conductix Wampfler Trouble Shooting:

Trouble shooting is in the blood. We have a Transfer Cart, it is one the section of our plant as the name suggest it usually takes concrete products on steel board which are coming from Concrete Block Making Machine and transfer to the curing chambers. As usual on Monday we turned our plant on and started to check each and everything either up to the mark or not. We received a bundle of complains that transfer cart is not working appropriately such as earth fault came in SEW Euro drive, MCBs tripping and sometime fluttering of contactors etc. we started to check the volts phase to phase and phase to neutral and found it normal. Usually faults were coming when Transfer cart was moving where as in stationary position there were no faults.

Initially I thought contactor had been out of order because rest of faults were not coming to frequently, there was interlocking between contactors so I replaced one of it and take the transfer cart under observation. There was not any sort of improvement. Faults kept coming in a same fashion. I decided to check Harting plug whose cable was coming from Conductix Wampfler motor driven cable reel. Sooner we detach the harting coupler we saw cable’s cores were in bad condition, core’s insulation has come out as it felt bare cores were kissing each other. I also open the cover of slip ring I found same pathetic condition of cable’s core, I even saw ground cable was broken by the way it was 18 core 2.5mm2 cable.

Obliviously, we had Conductix Wampfler Motor Driven Cable Reel in spare so we decided to replace it and as well as Harting Coupler. All faults had been vanished after replacing the both items Transfer Cart started to work smoothly. Trouble shooting is something which gives us energy if I got success to removing faults and in case if you are not succeed, we should not give in at least keep working and working then success will come to your feet.
