An evening of freelance celebration
IPSE - The Self-Employment Association
Where self-employment works for you.
We had a fantastic evening last week as we came together to mark the annual IPSE Freelancer Awards at The Barbican Centre in London. The awards celebrate the achievements of the UK’s brightest and best freelancers, as well as organisations who do the most to support the self-employed.
The extremely witty Paul Sinha hosted the evening and welcomed the judges on stage, as well as some passionate speakers, to present the deserving winners with their awards.
There were eight categories making up the awards and for some, the competition was so good, the judges presented two winners. One of those categories was the Freelancer Community Award, given to Leila d’Aronville for North East Cultural Freelancers and Nadine Campbell for ACE Entrepreneurs. Victoria Jones and Becky Barnes were awarded the Sustainable Freelancer Award, Lina Miller won the Wellbeing Award, Rachel Baines received the New Freelancer Award, the Freelancer Project Award was given to Vanessa Marchant and Georgina Merckel won the Young freelancer Award.
A further two categories gave out a highly commended award, as well as a winner. Workwell Solutions were highly commended for their work towards the Self-Employed Supplier Award and the winner was Fearless Business. The final award to be presented was the Outstanding Freelancer Award. Nadine Campbell was highly commended for this, and the winner was Olivier Jamin.?
After the award ceremony, everyone gathered in the beautiful conservatory, a tropical oasis of plants, and enjoyed celebrating as a community with some light refreshments.
On behalf of everyone here at IPSE, we would like to congratulate the winners and thank everyone who took part in showing off the very best of the self-employed community!
